Global Business 101

The old saying goes on “it’s an extremely small world.” It’s true in terms of your access to information across the globe and your ability to connect with important decision makers and business leaders from all over the globe. This is never more apparent than in global business, a term that encompasses any company or organization which conducts business outside of its home country.

Companies of all sizes must ensure that they are well-prepared to meet the challenges of global trade. This includes understanding the nuances and complexities of international business, and being able to work with partners and colleagues in other countries than their own.

The undergraduate Journal of Global Business and Trade (JGBT) includes research papers report, essays, and other articles that pertain to the area of global business. It’s also an official journal of the Consortium for Undergraduate International Business Education (CUIBE).

It’s crucial to know how cultural differences can affect the success of your company abroad regardless of whether you’re a business owner who is thinking of entering international markets, or want to make sure that your employees are prepared. This involves learning about the customs as well as the holidays, beliefs, and social customs of the various cultures that you will encounter in your international business endeavors. It’s an excellent way to boost your “export IQ.” It could also be helpful to know what to expect from business partners in different countries, like different levels of comfort with personal space or how to greet your coworker in a different language.
